Welcome on Collectingpages, the online version of my travel journal. This blog is the combination of two big passions that I have since I was in middle school: the love for writing and the one for travelling.
My name is Giulia and I’m in my 20s, I’m a translator and at the moment, I’m based in the UK. My love for travels and adventures was born thanks to my love for languages: more precisely when I was 16 and I went to study 3 months in France with the international exchange program, Comenius. Since then I’ve never had any doubt about my goal in life: becoming a translator… and travel the world!
For this reason, I’ve decided to study Chinese at Ca’Foscari University of Venice, which gave me the possibility of living in one of the most wonderful city in the world for two years. But I was not plenty satisfied by that moving, since I was still in Italy. So, I decided to spend my seniour year in Changchun, in the North-East of China.
At the moment, I live in London.
Another great passion, born when I was 11, are obviously books. When I was 14, I somehow managed to read over 100 books. Even if now I read a significantly smaller amount of pages, my passion for writing and reading clearly haven’t vanished. My favourite genre was fantasy and whether it still is one of my favourite genres, I’m trying to explore new stories and authors. For this reason, every year I pick a new topic and I try to read as many books as I can.
My dream is obviously to see as many wonders that this world has to offer and try to preserve it for those willing to do the same in the future. That’s why, me too, I started my long journey to a zero waste lifestyle.
How do you see yourself in ten years?
Of course, I would like to tick all my bucket list in ten years, but I know how hard this could be. In the real world, I would like to continue working as a translator from remote, which would ideally give me the possibility to chase new adventures without giving up on my amazing job.
And most of all, I hope I will be able to reach as many hearts as possible with all the pages collected through these years.
